Schedule of Operation

Winter 2012/13

Lift starts running at 9am (guided skiers should show at 8:15). Avalanche beacons, shovels and probes are needed to ski. Rentals are available at the mountain. Liability releases are also mandatory for anyone who wishes to participate (contact us for copy in advance).

December 15th – January 13th

Unguided skiing. Guides available for those who want guided skiing at that time, guides can take you beyond the unguided boundaries. Estimated dates for skiing early season are Dec 15-30 (Everyday except closed Xmas) Jan (3,4,5,6) (10,11,12,13)

January 17th – March 31

Guided Only Skiing. Open Thursday through Sunday(plus Presidents Day Monday). Guided Only Skiing with approx 80 skiers a day or less. Reservations for guided skiing/boarding available now.

April 4 – April 14

Unguided skiing returns. Guides still available for those who want guided skiing at that time, guides can take you beyond the unguided boundaries. Estimated dates of operation for April are April (4,5,6,7) (11,12,13,14).

Guided skiers are allowed beyond the boundaries to certain areas of the mountain during the unguided season on a daily basis, as per BLM safety regs. These areas are constantly shifting around the mtn based on snow safety with loads of great terrain for both. Silverton Mountain at 1,819 acres, has more expert terrain than any ski area in North America.
