Schedule of Operation

Winter 2009/10

Lift starts running at 9am. Avalanche beacons, shovels and probes are needed to ski. Rentals are available at the mountain.

December 2nd – January 10th

Unguided skiing. Guides available for those who want guided skiing at that time, guides can take you beyond the unguided boundaries. Open for skiing early season December (2-6) (12-13) (18,19,20) (26,27,& Monday 28) (Dec 31,Jan 1 2,3) and (7,8,9,10). Open Thursday through Sunday starting December 31.

January 14th – March 28

Guided Only Skiing. Open Thursday through Sunday. Guided Only Skiing with approx 80 skiers a day or less. Reservations for guided skiing/boarding available now.

April 2 – April 18

Unguided skiing returns. Guides still available for those who want guided skiing at that time, guides can take you beyond the unguided boundaries. Estimated dates of operation for April are April (2,3,4) (9,10,11) and (17,18). Schedule is subject to change.

Guided skiers are allowed beyond the boundaries to certain areas of the mountain during the unguided season on a daily basis, as per BLM safety regs. These areas are constantly shifting around the mtn based on snow safety with loads of great terrain for both. Silverton Mountain at 1,819 acres, has more expert terrain than any ski area in North America.
