Schedule of Operation

Winter 2014-2015

Lift starts running at 9 am (guided skiers should show at 8:15). Avalanche beacons, shovels and probes are needed to ski. Rentals are available at the mountain. Liability releases are also mandatory for anyone who wishes to participate.

December 20th – January 4th

Unguided skiing. Guides available for those who want guided skiing at that time, guides can take you beyond the unguided boundaries. Dates for skiing early season are December 20th and 21st, December 27th and 28th, January 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.

January 9th – March 29th

Guided Only Skiing. January 9th, 10th and 11th, Jan 16th, 17th, and 18th. Then open Thursday through Sunday (plus Presidents Day Monday) through March 22nd. March 27th, 28th, and 29th. Guided Only Skiing with approx 80 skiers a day. Reservations for guided skiing/boarding available now.

April 3rd- April 12th

Unguided skiing returns. Guides still available for those who want guided skiing at that time, guides can take you beyond the unguided boundaries. Dates of operation for April are April 3rd, 4th, and 5th
April 10th, 11th, and 12th.

Guided skiers are allowed beyond the boundaries to certain areas of the mountain during the unguided season on a daily basis, as per BLM safety regulations. These areas are constantly shifting around the mountain based on snow safety with loads of great terrain for both. Silverton Mountain at 1,819 acres, has more expert terrain than any ski area in North America.
